“I shot these with a 60’s Olympus Pen EE S, half-frame point and shoot. It uses half of your standard 35mm frame, doubling your amount of shots per roll with its viewfinder at a vertical state. I like this camera because it reminds me of 8mm film, and having 2 shots per 35mm frame, it makes me think of my next shot as I am shooting the current one. It’s something that I find myself constantly doing, often 3-4 shots deep in my mind, even before I’ve taken my first. So each shot in each diptych was taken after the next and printed on the same frame.I am a big fan of impressionist art, and since I can’t paint, I like to play with soft focusing. New shapes are formed that you don’t normally see, colors blend into each other naturally, and everything looks like a memory where moments and feelings are remembered rather than detailed images. And being able to evoke different feelings just by altering perspectives is one of the many aspects of photography that I love. “
