“I live in Chinatown. My entry is about me blending into the world around me. From a homeless man (who becomes invisible to most) to a ghostly image to my own tribute to Liu Bolin, it’s about becoming part of the environment.”
While our Photoboxers are working on their photos, let’s take some time to look at some of their previous work.
This is the work of photoboxer Cheyne Gallarde. His previous work ranged from his signature retro and vintage to dramatic self portraits. His work is high in concept, so how will he interpret this week’s challenge of “The World Around Us”?
Our first Photoboxer is a 5’8” self-described photo nerd from Hawaii. He started shooting photography professionally 5 years ago and has since developed a niche he calls “antique chic”. His style is part time travel, part fashion.
His work is vibrant and high in concept, but does he have what it takes to take on more grittier challenges. His weakness is photography using natural light, so can he handle shooting out in nature with nothing but the sun as his lightsource?
We shall see when he competes in the first Photoboxing match, taking place soon!
